How to grill the perfect steak every time
We love a coal or natural wood coal base for this preparation, but you could also use a gas grill. If using gas, cooking times may vary from this method.
You’ll need:
12-ounce boneless Ribeye
Sea salt (approximately 1 tsp per steak)
- Prepare your coals. About 20 minutes before you’re ready to start cooking, remove the steak from the fridge and lay it on parchment paper or paper towels to air dry and come to room temperature.
- Season steak with salt liberally on each side (about 1 teaspoon of salt per steak).
- Place the grill approximately 3-5 inches over your coal base (the temperature will be about 400F).
- Grill steak for 4 minutes on its first side, flip and cook for another 4 minutes. Check temperature and remove from grill at 115F.
- Remove steak from heat and allow to rest for 4 minutes. Slice against the grain and serve!
