Our leanest ground beef shines in this preparation, which showcases its rich beefy flavor and makes it as moist and tender as possible. We use this cooked and crumbled beef in all types of preparations: on rice, in a keto-friendly coconut wrap with cauliflower rice, or just piled into a plain old delicious corn tortilla with a little guac.
Heat a 10 to 12” skillet until smoking hot. Take the two cubes of ground beef out of the package and place directly into the skillet and sear them – don’t add any fat! This will be sticky, but it will work and will keep your beef as lean as possible – trust us!
Brown the beef on one side for about 3 minutes then scrape off and flip to brown on the other side, cooking on that side for another 3 minutes.
Crumble the beef with a spoon or metal spatula in the pan and sprinkle with the chili, oregano, cumin and salt. Add 1 cup of water to the pan, cover and cook for 30 minutes.
Remove the lid, crumble the beef more and add the second cup of water. Cook uncovered for another 30-45 minutes.
Taste and season to your preference. Store tightly covered in the refrigerator for up to 10 days.
