Directions

1. Heat 8-12” diameter casserole or cast iron with no added fat for 3 mins until fully warmed up. Place the two cubes of ground beef from the package directly into the pan, sear fully on one side, turn completely over, sear completely on the other side. Each side should take 3-5 minutes. The ground beef will render out its own fat during the browning.

2. Turn the heat down, sprinkle the salt and all spices on the browned cubes of beef, break the cubes up with a wooden spoon or spatula and cook for an additional 5 mins. Add the water, vinegar  and grated lemon, bring to the simmer, and simmer uncovered for 2-3 hours. Add a little extra water if it boils down.

3. This cooked meat will last 10 days in your fridge. Serve with warm pitas, sour cream or yogurt, sliced cucumbers or top a fresh salad with the warmed beef for a hearty protein.
